Boston Westie 2023-2024 Health and Safety Policy

Boston Westie is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of our community member through the implementation of best practices based on the advice of health professionals and CDC recommendations.

The following policies will be in effect for Boston Westie 2021-2022 Dance Nights.

Vaccine and Mask Policy

We are a Vaccine and Mask-only dance. Entry into the dance will require evidence of full vaccination by:

  1. a) Presentation of vaccination card OR vaccination passport AND

  2. b) Signed immunity affidavit card at the dance

What is an immunity affidavit?

Before entering our dance, every attendee will signed attesting that the evidence you provided 1) belongs to you and that 2) this information is truthful.

Attendees who provide falsified records or otherwise intentionally mislead the dance event about their vaccination status shall receive a lifetime ban from Boston Westie and will be reported to local, state and federal authorities.

When do I need to get vaccinated?

COVID-19 vaccines in the United States are widely available to everyone 12 years old and older. Please visit vaxfinder.mass.gov/ to find a COVID-19 vaccine near you.

To be considered fully vaccinated in time for our first dance, your last dose of a COVID-19 vaccine must be received no later than the date shown below:

  • Moderna vaccine by September 10

  • Pfizer vaccine by September 10

  • Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine (one dose) by September 10

What if I have natural immunity? (Immunity from a previous infection) While we may, in the future, can consider people who have developed natural immunity, we are not able to create a policy that presently has no precedent. At this point in time, natural immunity is insufficient to meet our immunity requirement.

What if I cannot get vaccinated?

We understand that some community members may have medical conditions or other circumstances that will not allow vaccinations, while others may not feel comfortable receiving a vaccination. For 2021, we will not be able to accommodate those community members for the in-person dance.

What if I lost my vaccination card?

Your vaccination provider or your doctor’s office can obtain a replacement card and/or your COVID-19 vaccination record from their records. Please also consider reaching out to your state’s public health agency. They should have a record of your vaccination records.

If you are unable to obtain a replacement card, you will have the option to provide a photo of your legible vaccination card and a signed affidavit from a witness. Signed affidavit must be signed in front of a Boston Westie member.  Witnesses MUST also be attending the dance and will be subject to the same penalties for falsifying information.
